18 Nov Bold Leadership
Being bold isn’t reserved for those who are commanding in presence, extra talented, perfect decisions, and smarts. It isn’t for those at the top.
Bold leadership is about going down new roads before figuring out the “how.” Bold leadership is about seeing failures as learning and celebrating small wins as steps towards bigger future goals. Its asking questions that seem outside the box, too big, impossible.
How can you step into bold leadership?
1.BE FEARLESS. Around here when we say fearless we mean “fear less.” We can’t eliminate fear. If we did, we’d also lose the rush and excitement of stepping out into the unknown. Life would be too normal. One way to lessen the fear in your life is by embracing the learning the comes from failure. Failure rules out an option. Failure helps us course correct to stay on the right path. Failure teaches us what not to do and what doesn’t work. These are valuable learning moments. If missed, you’ll get to learn them again. Not good.
2.DREAM BIG. Don’t let the impossible keep you from innovation. Countless stories of success come from people doing what other’s thought would never work (The Home Depot, Starbucks, TOMS shoes, J.K Rowling, Walt Disney). Consider this quote from Michael Jordan: “I have missed over 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I have missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
3.CLARIFY GOALS. Great things rarely happen on accident. That’s why The Game Changers, Inc. is deeply committed to goal setting. Create your goal. Write it down. Review it each morning and night. Write 3 things down at the beginning of the day that you can do to help you move towards you goal. Behave on purpose.
Be BOLD! You can do this.
